What is the purpose of this guide?

Startups have a great influence on the innovative power of our society. However, they need support in decisive growth phases. Unfortunately, it is sometimes hard for startups to find the right support within the pool of possibilities.

We are also of the opinion that many great programs are not as visible as they deserve. For that reason we decided to create this book, which summarizes the most important features of each program, to help startups and accelerators finding their right fit.

The Accelerator Guide will be published in 2021 and will serve as a standard work for startups worldwide. It will be published free of charge digitally and in print. It will be available online as a PDF on our website. Printed copies will be sent to universities, coworking spaces and public bodies.

What is our goal?

Accelerator programs typically pursue specific objectives for participating teams. For example, market maturity, internationalisation, readiness for a larger round of funding, first B2B customer, etc.
Therefore, it is our goal to categorize all programs as concisely as possible to make it as easy as possible for both parties to find the right participants/programs.

SAP

https://www.sap.com/index.html

The capital of Bavaria is one of Europe’s leading technology clusters with its unique ecosystem of global players, startups, research and talents.

SAP Munich has just embarked on a new exciting era within its long tradition of collaboration with the Munich ecosystem. The ambition is to be a leading innovation hub in Commerce, Industry 4.0 & Sustainability. Key will be the recently sealed first-of-its-kind partnership between SAP and Technical University Munich (TUM), which includes a brand new SAP Labs office for 700 researchers on the campus.

SAP works closely with UnternehmerTUM, Europe’s leading entrepreneurship center, to cultivate open innovation and offer joint programs with global reach. SAP hosts and participates in popular start-up community events such as SAP.iO Demo Day and Bits & Pretzels, which hosted speakers such as Barack Obama, Richard Branson and Jessica Alba, to name a few.

SAP’s external start-up accelerator, SAP.iO Foundry Munich, holds the unique benefit of being the only accelerator focused on business-to-business (B2B) startups in Munich.

The SAP.iO Foundries are SAP’s global network of top-tier startup programs, including accelerators, that enable startups to build innovative software that deliver value for SAP customers. Today, there are SAP.iO Foundries in 8 strategic startup hubs, including San Francisco, New York, Berlin, Paris, Munich, Tel Aviv, Singapore and Tokyo. SAP.iO Foundries have a unique three-fold value proposition - access to curated mentorship, exposure to SAP technologies, and opportunities to collaborate with SAP customers – all while requiring no equity from the startups to participate. The SAP.iO Foundries were formally launched early 2017 and to-date more than 100 rising stars of the early stage intelligent enterprise ecosystem have been accelerated by SAP.iO Foundries.

Working closely with SAP Customer Experience teams and UnternehmerTUM, the SAP.iO Foundry Munich focuses exclusively on B2B startups that transform customer relationships and help SAP customers deliver even more engaging experiences. It leverages deep ties with the local entrepreneurial network to develop successful joint offerings with international impact.

Recent and current participants include the Munich-born start-ups parcelLab GmbHStorifymepresize.ai and rapitag as well as start-ups from other regions in Germany and worldwide, such as Nyris GmbHVelouExpivi and Alcméon. “Its just amazing to be a part of it a huge enterprise like SAP which you usually just see from the outside, that´s really cool”, Julian Krenge, CTO parcelLab.
